Artists Profile
Roger Rockefeller discovered his love of making art as a boy. After a career of teaching physics, astronomy and engineering at Utica College of Syracuse University, he and his wife, Mariarosa (who also taught there), are now enjoying retirement on the Gulf Coast, pursuing their love of painting and photography.
Working with watercolor, pen & ink, dry media and digital imaging, Roger is an award-winning artist who strives to capture the mood of a scene by combining color with intensity of light, value changes, textures and appealing composition. Old barns, boats, farmhouses and lighthouses intrigue him. Lately he has been working on still-lifes and reflections.
The artist is a Signature Member of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society, a participating member of the Florida Watercolor Society, and a former member of the Central New York Watercolor Society.
