Artists Profile
Painting is a source of happiness for Lee Mears, and she feels she has always been an artist at heart.
Originally from New York City, her move to Bradenton, Florida, in 1968 gave her an opportunity to study with several noted local artists including Leona Sherwood, Diane Schmidt and Barbara Simmons.
A reverence for nature can be seen in her paintings of spectacular Florida skies, beaches and wetlands.
She also enjoys working in mixed media and collage, allowing these works “to just happen.”
